'16 & Pregnant' Star Ashley Salazar Reveals the Secret to Her Post-Baby Weight Loss (PHOTO)

Ashley Salazar '16 & Pregnant'When it comes to dropping the baby weight, surprise surprise: there's no magic trick. Yeah, Weight Watchers may be the go-to for Jessica Simpson and Beyonce may have tried the "Master Cleanse." How about this: 16 and Pregnant star Ashley Salazar has a different little trick of her own for shedding postpartum pounds, and that trick involves Jillian Michaels.

The size 2 momma tweeted about her recent weight loss, saying that the Jillian Michaels -- 30 Day Shred totally worked for her. The only thing, though, is that she followed that up by saying lately she's been slacking on her weight loss game and that she doesn't "look like this" anymore.

It's cool that the Jillian Michaels program helped Ash lose a bulk of her baby weight, yeah. If following a program that strict is just gonna make her relapse, though, is it worth it?

Some may say yes; I'm not so sure.

Yo-yo dieting takes a huge toll on you, both mentally and physically. Jillian Michaels' program is definitely NOT easy. However, that's why it works. Not too long ago one of the girls at the office tried one of Jillian's programs, and said it had little to no wiggle room. For a teenager and MTVlebrity, a program with minimal flexibility can't be an easy something to keep up with on the day-to-day.

In my mind, Ashley needs to find some sort of program that she can maintain. You know, one that allows her to live her life instead of putting things on hold. Whether that's eating smaller meals more frequently or incorporating a different sort of cardio routine into her days -- the sooner she falls into a groove that matches her lifestyle, the better. I'm sure we'll stop seeing the gloomy tweets, then.

How did you lose the baby weight?

I lost all of my baby weight doing the 30 day shred. Was it tough? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes.

If you can't take 30 minutes a day to exercise and eat healthy then you don't deserve to lose the baby weight.

30 minutes is not that much time.

I lost all my baby weight by not eating like a hippo and just watching my calories. It's not that hard to lose weight, just don't eat like a fat a$$

I'm 23 and my husband was deployed so if I can lose the weight being a single mother at the time WITH the stress of possibly having my husband blown up ... Anyone can do it

Breastfeeding. I've lost all but three lbs and that's because I drink to much soda & eat too much junk. I am  working on that though =)

She's 16... Of course it was easy. It was easy for me at 25, a little harder at 28. But 16 give me a break.

I lost the weight slowly. The right way. I didn't do some thirty day program. I try to eat healthy and I work at a gym so I work out while I'm there. Lots of cardio. And I breastfeed. People want some pill or quick solution because they are lazy and don't want to work for it I love the feeling after a good workout. I feel strong and like I accomplished something. If you want to keep your results do it the healthy way by eating right and exercise and it will be worth it in the end when you don't gain it all back and its not just about weight and appearance. It's about your overall health

I lost mine in 2 weeks thanks to breastfeeding and total lack of sleep. I really didn't care, the only reason I even know was because I had surgery 2 wks out and they weighed me right before for the anesthesia. Of course I gained some back (maybe 5 lbs) when I stopped BF, then it came off just naturally and my size never fluctuated. I really don't think having a killer body at 19 or however old Ashley is is a big accomplishment. At that age I didn't work out and lived off fast food and was skinny. Let's check back with her when she's 40, then I'll give her a pat on the back. Hope she's as focused on her baby as she is on her body...doubt it!

I think it helps that's she's a teenager

I eat like a fat a$$ and never exercise. I lost all my baby weight and then some by breastfeeding. I just got lucky that I am a good milk producer and my little man is a little piggy!

Jillian rocks! At 30 lbs lighter than I used to be, I am proof!
