The moment you find out you're pregnant is one of the biggest, most overwhelming ones of your life, but it doesn't always feel real ... until you tell someone. Whether you share the news right away or choose to wait until you're further along, that big reveal is one of those life-changing moments you want to be just perfect.
Some people do it simply with an announcement via telephone or in person, but plenty of people up the ante and get pretty elaborate with their announcements. Here are six creative ways people announce their pregnancies.
How did you announce your pregnancy to your spouse, family, and friends?

We found out just a few weeks before Christmas so on Christmas morning we had each member of my family open a gift from us: wrapped up baby shampoo, a rattle, a bib, a pacifier, and a teething ring. We had them open the gifts all at the same time (and after all the other gifts) so one by one they started putting it together and totally freaking out. It was great!
I told my husband and our parents in pretty traditional ways, but when it came time to tell everyone else in the world (I was already 5 months and couldn't hide it anymore) I changed my facebook profile picture to a picture of my son holding a sign saying "I'm going to be a big brother!" I got so many complements on that and it made for a really cute picture. [The only glitch is that apparently I forgot to tell one of my grandma's before I posted it and an aunt saw it and relayed the message very nonchalantly and my grandma was a teensy bit upset] It was great and it cut down on all the speculation of "is she or isn't she pregnant"
after all the family asking when i was going to have another child, i already had 2 boys, we started trying and i got prego...we decided to tell the family at Christmas...so I bought a clock where you put pics in for each number...my in-laws at the time had 11 grandkids so for one of the number i put in new baby with the expected due date...it was funny watching them open up their present because as they looked at the pics they went right past the new baby one...they had to do a double take then the screams and tears happened. I just wish I had it on video..it was a priceless moment.
I just told people.............
I am so sick of our culture having to make everything so elaborate! Whatever happened to just telling your loved ones over dinner or making a surprise visit to share the news? Everyone nowadays is always trying to out-do each other with annoucements, birthday parties, weddings, etc.
For my dad, we were at his house, and texted him a picture of the positive pregnancy test. He cried. My mother-in-law, who was about to make a joke that we must be pregnant, since it had been so long since we visited was cut short. We were telling them they have to come visit us more often in about 9 months. FIL was confused, and SIL shouted "OMG, SHE'S PREGNANT!" We kind of did the same thing with my mom, but said something about how money was gonna get tight in about 8 months or so.
I don't think it's that people are trying to outdo each other. I think people just like making the news fun, and seeing how long it takes for people to catch on.
