Mom Gives Birth to Twins in Two Different Towns (VIDEO)

Say What!? 14

A mom from Amityville, New York has quite a story to tell her kids when they grow up, because she just gave birth to her twin baby boys while driving on two different highways over the weekend! After Siobhan Anderson's water broke at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, she and her husband Bryan waited until 7:00 a.m. to get in the car and go to the hospital because her doctor urged them not to rush.

But as it turns out, her baby boys were much more ready to make their entrance into the world than Siobhan thought, because her first son wound up being born at an exit on the Southern State Parkway in Long Island.

She felt the baby's head coming out after a contraction, and that's when she had her husband pull over. EMTs did arrive at the scene in time for the newborn's arrival, and she delivered him on a stretcher while being moved to the ambulance.

After that, she and the baby were put in the ambulance to be taken to the hospital so Siobhan could deliver baby number two -- but he had other plans as well. She gave birth to him on the side of the Wantagh State Parkway.

The ambulance did finally head on to the hospital after that, where they arrived with both babies in tow. Little Gavin and Declan Anderson are both doing fine, and will go home with their parents and big brother Dylan later this week.

This woman definitely has one pretty amazing story to tell, but she does admit that the toughest part of the whole ordeal was being forced to deliver the twins without an epidural -- not having to deliver them roadside. But I'm sure she probably forgot all about the pain while she was pushing two babies out while hearing the sounds of cars whizzing past her! You'd think that the noise and unexpectedness of the situation would be a bit of a distraction, to say the least.

I can't help but wonder what they are going to put on these two babies' birth certificates as far as birthplaces go? They may be twins, but being born in two different towns is something they'll surely joke about for years to come.

Take a look at this video clip to hear more about Siobhan's adventure while delivering her twins.

That's pretty awesome! NOT THAT IT'S A COMPETITION.....but I think the lady who gave birth in two different countries in the UK (one twin in Scotland and the other in England) has her beat.... especially considering the tumultuous history between Scotland and England..... gives a whole new definition to "sibling rivalry."

I have a 2 year old and i was pregnant with my second and i didnt know how close i came to not making it to the hospital.. I woke up on my due date and had a cramp and then they started immediately at every 5 mins.. We packed up my 2 year old to bring her to my grammas 45mins away.. At my grammas i insisted upon washing my face and eating because i knew they wouldnt let me eat.. I got to the hospital with my contractions 2 mins apart and with just enough time for a spinal block and i delivered an hour and a half later.. I had a 5 1/2 hour delivery.. I could have had her on my grammas kitchen floor while trying to scarf down some toast lmao

I did end up having my son on the way to the hospital.. my water broke and I wasn't sure if I was in labor so we stopped at a hospital (that didn't even deliver), and while waiting on the ambulance to get there to transport us to another hospital, my baby boy was born. :)

Thankfulky, I was in the hospital when labor started. After 2 hrs of labor, I delivered an 8lb 12oz baby boy. It happened so fast, I almost went into shock.

This is a great Story, I was so scared that I wouldn't make it either. My water broke at 1230 left at 2 am (hospital is about an hour away) and got to the hospital and had my baby boy at 7am on christmas eve. On christmas morning a woman had a baby in the parking lot a the hospital.

Wow, such a neat story to tell the twins! With my second son, my water never broke. Labor isn't painful for me, so with no water breaking & no pain, I thought I had plenty of time. I didn't. Luckily we drove past a cop on the way to the hospital and he turned on his lights & sirens so we could make it through traffic. We got there just in time. Without that cop, little Jamison would've been born in the car, too!
