As the nation tries to come to terms with the massacre that occurred last week at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, the stories of the victims who were shot and killed while watching The Dark Knight Rises seem to get more and more heartbreaking. And perhaps one of the worst things we've heard yet is that a 6-year-old girl named Veronica Moser-Sullivan was among the victims killed -- and her mother was just told the devastating news.
Ashley Moser was also shot by James Holmes, and she is still in the hospital recovering. Relatives just broke the news to her about losing her beloved daughter in the shooting, and she reportedly broke down in tears and said she wants to die. But as it turns out, she actually has a very important reason to live.
Ashley Moser is pregnant, and even though she was shot in the stomach, somehow her unborn baby managed to survive. And while the baby isn't out of the woods yet, I have to believe that this is the one thing that is going to give Ashley the strength to go on and somehow pick up the pieces of her life after losing her little girl.

As a mother, I can completely understand why her initial reaction would be that she wants to die, because that's exactly how I would feel if anything happened to my son. But knowing there is a growing life inside of her who has a chance, and who will need her constant love and attention has to offer Ashley a small ray of hope, and can possibly give her the will to survive.
The news surrounding this massacre has been nothing short of devastating, and we can only hope that somehow this baby will be carried to term and will turn out to be a small miracle out of something absolutely horrific.
And while Ashley Moser will never truly get over the pain of losing her daughter, perhaps Veronica's memory can live on in the life of the sibling she'll sadly never know.
What words of comfort would you offer to this mother?

Now I am crying even harder! I pray this mama recovers and that this baby stays healthy in the womb until he/she is ready to be born.
This is all so devastating - on so many levels...
Just being sarcastic! But i bet someone will think r say that. I heard she was going to b paralysed so i.just hope the baby makes it so she can have a reason to move on and LIVE. Her daughter isnt here anymore but that other baby needs her and so does her family. I hope that little person survives so that it can hel his/her mom do the same
purple_creeper.. How can you say that?! Being sarcastic or not.. That's an innocent baby struggling to survive now and i'm sure that's enough to deal with not to mention her oldest born dying from a tragic event that no one seen coming. It could happen to anyone at any given time. That's two lives put at stake. Im sure she feels like pure sh** and that's not the word for it. On a side note, i'm wishing this mother and baby girl all kinds of strength and fingers crossed that they pull through it all well physically and mentally. Hugs! Be strong!
I looked but couldn't find this info on any reliable news source website. I searched CNN and nothing. Not so sure that this is true.
Who brings a six year old to the midnight showing of Batman? Poor child should've been at home sleeping. It's just plain selfish!
Oh GinFizz...on cue illustrating purple_creeper's point...why is it necessary to say that in the wake of the tragedy??? Agreed, a 6yr old doesn't need to be out at midnight, but at this point, after her death, does that really matter and what is gained by saying that???
Hope both mom and baby are ok...
Pointing out the fact that a child shouldn't have been at the theater doesn't make this any less of a tragedy. I'm just sick and tired of seeing parents drag their young children and babies out late at night.
