pregnantOh. My. GAAAAAWD. Pregnancy is uncomfortable in about a million different ways, but at least you kind of expect most of them. You know -- back pain, sciatica, nausea, etc. -- they all suck, but at least you're not shocked when those symptoms hit. Poor 26-year-old Kelly Donegal of the U.K., however, was slammed with a most unusual ailment towards the end of her pregnancy, with just six weeks to go before her due date.

I swear, I can't even begin to imagine what went through Donegal's head when it happened. I honestly think I would have had a heart attack on the spot.

See, back in 2009, Kelly Donegal had her appendix removed. And you know those stories you hear from time to time, those really scary ones about surgeons accidentally leaving things inside people's bodies and sewing them back up again?

Yeah. Well, when Donegal had her appendix removed, doctors left a surgical pin behind. A surgical pin. Which, of course, decided to pop through her skin, "just inches away from her unborn baby."

She'd been feeling "some discomfort" on the left side of her stomach, she said, when one day, all of a sudden -- pop! The sharp end of a needle pokes through her belly. (I'm telling you, I would've had a heard attack.)

Doctors assure Donegal her baby will be fine, just fine, but she has to wait until after her child is born to get the pin removed. Says Donegal:

“All they can do until then is trim the sharp end off it, so it doesn’t catch on things. It’s horrible, and it’s also quite sore. But, there’s nothing I can do except wait.”

And file a lawsuit against the surgeon who left that freaking pin in your stomach, I would hope!! Man alive!
