It's such a cool birth story, you would think Donna Keenan might have planned it, but she didn't. The 28-year-old woman was watching the Euro 2012 with her boyfriend at her parents' home in England on July 1. She'd just returned from a routine checkup, and everything seemed fine. Then just an hour and a half later, she went into labor.
According to the BBC, there was no time to get to the hospital, so they called paramedics. Her son Dylan Joseph was born at about 10 p.m. at the home.
But the story didn't end there, as Keenan was pregnant with twins. The emergency workers thought they had enough time to get to the hospital for the second birth, so off they went.
The nearest hospital was an hour away -- in Scotland. Hannah Rose was born there about an hour and a half later. That's right, the twins were born in separate countries! How incredible is that?
They were almost born on separate days too, which would have only added even more insanity to this story. Dad, Joel Fox, joked to The Sun, “I joked to Donna she should hold on as long as possible — but I don’t think it went down too well!”
While it would be nice if everyone's birth experience went according to plan, that's clearly not the case for everyone. From brides who give birth at the own weddings to those who give birth while flying the friendly skies, things just don't always go as planned. While they're surely fraught-filled at the time, in the end, most of them, like this one, have happy endings ... and give the parents and kids a hell of a story to tell for life.
What's the strangest birth story you have heard?

Totally awesome !!!! I had my Daughter enroute to the hospital in the front seat of my Van.... we were infront of the er so we made it to the hospital but the nurses who came out to get me after my Husband ran in with the my wife;s in labor spiel said I wasn't going anywhere she was crowning so they cut off my pants & delivered my wonderful daughter right there in the van... she was $ weeks premature but healthy no issues with either of us.. talk about natural delivery no time for drugs but a quick recovery for me though... maybe next time the Dr;s will listen to a mother who knows better with her 4th child on the way lol...
My nephew was born in the car, feet first! Luckily her mom (a nurse in labor and delivery) was driving and a neighbor (a nurse midfwife) had jumped into the car with her, She had just had a course review of emergancy breach deliveries a week before, so it was all fresh in her mind! Mom and baby were fine, mom didn't even tare, and it was her first. They were released the following evening.
Scotland and England are seperate countries. They have seperate parliaments, print their own money (it can be used interchangeably in most shops although I've had English shops reject Scottish money before), and Scotland is pushing for full independence. At this point Scotland isn't much more connected to England than Canada or Australia is. Saying they don't have seperate passports is a moot point since the passport is for the whole EU and clearly covers a whole host of countries.
My grandfather's parent's home was on the Indiana Ohio state border. Some of the children in the family were born in Indiana and some were born in Ohio depending on what room the baby was born. My daughter in law is interested in geneology and she found the old records and my grandfather had like 9 brothers and sisters and the records list each on and what state they were born in and that they were born at home at the same street address.
My mom was born in an elevator
Wow the writer of this article sounds like a winner I had no idea England and Scotland were different COUNTRIES.
To all those who would rather remain ignorant, you are the ones that are close minded not wanting to be corrected. The story is good but facts are facts and I would rather be corrected than make the same ignorant mistake again. More than anything the incorrect parts are what jumped at me as I am sure it does with most logic minded people.
