Can you think of anything worse as an expectant mother than being told that your baby has died inside your womb and will be stillborn upon delivery? Hearing those words is nothing short of horrific and devastating for a pregnant woman, as Alex Jones knows all too well.
When she was six months pregnant, Alex was told that her unborn baby boy did not have a heartbeat -- and she was advised to go ahead and make funeral arrangements so that he could be buried immediately after delivery. (Horrible!)
She was forced to give birth to her baby boy (which she did naturally) even though she knew he was going to be stillborn. And then right after his delivery -- something unimaginable happened.
Alex, her own mother, and her midwife all got the biggest shock of their lives when the tiny baby boy started wriggling his toes, and let out a groan indicating that he was breathing -- and very much alive.
And while the baby, named Cohan, was in intensive care at the hospital for five months where he faced numerous obstacles, he did indeed, survive -- and he just celebrated his 1st birthday. He's happy, healthy, and thriving, and he's an incredible miracle to his family and all of the doctors and nurses who witnessed his amazing recovery.
It must have been so surreal for Alex to go from thinking she was going to give birth to her son and then bury him right afterwards to seeing him move and hearing him make noise -- and realizing that the doctors were somehow wrong about his condition. She now believes that his minuscule size is the reason why they were unable to hear his heartbeat, even though he did, indeed, have one.
Stories like hers prove that you can never give up hope for seeing a miracle happen, even when situations in your life seem absolutely impossible.
Have you ever witnessed a miracle?

awe im glad he is okay... I had give birth to my son 2 months early, because of complications with me... if I let him stay there longer... neither of us would be here today...
I have witnessed a miracle. In October 2006 my younger brother went into respiratory failure after having surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. He was in an induced coma for 3 weeks, the first 2 of which we were told every day he was the sickest patient in the unit. When he was finally stabilized and was able to be transferred to a respiratory care unit we were told he would be on a ventilator for the rest of his life. However, my brother asked us to pray with him that he would go home by Christmas breathing on his own. The entire medical team tried to tell us there was no way, but we decided to give the situation to God and see what He would do. The first half of December he was unable to breathe for even a couple minutes on his own when they would try to plug his trach. But about 10 days before Christmas he suddenly was able to breathe for longer and longer stretches, a few days before Christmas he was off the ventilator completely and it was taken out of his hospital room, and the day before Christmas he went home! When he had his follow up appointment with his doctor a short while after his discharge, the doctor told him, "I'm not religious like your family, but something happened in your case that I can not explain medically." God still does miracles!
We could not have a baby. We tried for 11 years, had 2 miscarriages. We went to prayer. We got Cecil. As a result of my age and health the DR. tried to get me to kill him. I wouldn't do it. I went through with the pregnancy. Towards the end I experienced preeclampsia. My amnioitc fluid went dangerously low. Cecil was taken emergency C-section. we were told he had Tetralogy of Fallot.
At one month old he had emergency closed heart surgery. His right lung collasped during the surgery. They performed an experimental procedure on him and got his lung inflated. five and half months old he was back in the hospital for low weight and poor growth. We was taught by the nurses to put a feeding tube down his nose through the back of his throat down through his esophagus into his stomach in order to feed him. When it came time my husband would hold him and I would put the tube in his nose till it got to his stomach.
At 11 months old he had open heart to repair the defect. That was successful without any complications.
At three and a half yrs he had a cardiac cath to correct the pulmonary stenosis that accompanies this heart defect.
Today he is a very thin tall 6 yr old with. He runs, plays, laughs. Unless you lift his shirt or listen to his chest you wouldn't know there was any difference between him and any normal little boy.
Seriously, I don't believe everything a doctor says. They misled this poor lady to give birth early to her baby and risked him dying because he was born prematuraly.
This is just a HUGE case of follow your body's lead providing you are healthy and showing no signs of infection.
awesome
Amen to that!
