Something tells me I know what the singer Adele's next album will sound like: Rumor has it there are strange cravings; rolling in the deep of a pile of diapers; and someone like you who makes me nauseated in the morning. That's because Adele is pregnant! The singer announced today on her blog that she's expecting her first child with her boyfriend of a year, Simon Konecki:

I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx

Respect your privacy? Please, hon. You've been foisting your private life on us for years! No sense getting all shy all of a sudden.

Adele had said in the past she didn't want to be pregnant until she was at least 30, and she's only 24, so she's way ahead of schedule. Not surprising for someone who has won so many Grammys at such a young age, and who writes like such an old soul.

It's good to know that Adele is over all that past relationship angst, which inspired both her Grammy-winning 21 and her album 19. If she'd come out with yet another album about a broken relationship, that could have gotten a little annoying. Like, Adele, get some therapy already. Be single for awhile, gurl!

But you do have to wonder about what kinds of songs Adele's pregnancy will inspire. How about, "He Won't Go (to Sleep)"? Or maybe, "I'll Be Waiting (Until You Finally Come Out, Damn You, Come Out, Will Ya?!)"? Or "Rumor Has It This Brand of Nappy Causes Rashes"?

Anyway, I'm sure a great talent like Adele will manage to make a song about stretch marks or swollen ankles so soulful and catchy that it wins a million more Grammys! I just hope she doesn't name her baby 25. Or 9 Months.
