It's not really a huge shock that Snooki is making funny and outrageous comments during her pregnancy, but some of the stuff she says just seems, well -- kind of unrealistic. (Even for Snooki.)
She recently talked to The Insider about her pregnancy thus far, and some of her wackier statements included insisting that "cravings are all in your head" (try telling that to a pepperoni pizza when it's screaming at you to devour it), and vowing not to wear maternity clothes at any point in her pregnancy. (Good luck with that one, honey.)
But Snooki also made it quite clear that keeping her weight gain in check is definitely a priority. And while pregnancy weight is always a concern regardless of whether or not you're a celebrity, it sounds like she is already putting way too much pressure on herself to be back in super-tight mini-skirts immediately after her baby boy arrives.
As you will see in the video clip below (towards the end of the clip), Snooki doesn't seem the least bit concerned about getting back to her petite pre-baby weight of 100 pounds.
I hate to break it to her -- but the majority of women don't bounce right back to their pre-baby weight at the snap of their fingers right after giving birth.
In most cases, it takes a hell of a lot longer than expected -- or at least it did for me. I too, figured I'd be back to my normal size fairly quickly after my son arrived. (I think I even considered packing a pair of pre-baby jeans in my hospital bag.)
But in reality, it took me a good nine months to shed every last ounce of the weight I gained -- and even then, my body still didn't look exactly like it did before I became pregnant. (And over six years later, it still isn't quite right.)
Snooki definitely needs a reality check -- otherwise she may be setting herself up for a huge disappointment (and shock) after she gives birth. But if she's truly worried about putting on too much weight during her pregnancy, she might want to think about walking instead of riding around the Jersey Shore on a scooter this summer.
Are you putting a time limit on yourself as far as losing your baby weight goes?

Is it an age thing? I'm in my mid twenties and have a handful of friends that had babies and less than a year later were back in their original shape. Tight abs and all. One of them does those fitness bikini contests. Your body WILL and CAN go back to how it was but you have to put 100% effort into it and nothing less.
when i had my twins i weighed 10 pounds less than when i conceived.
but then came Christmas, and the chocolate truffles were everywhere and little Debbie has been a good friend lately..so now i have to lose weight that was not baby weight...
I have a small frame, though a couple of inches taller than Nicole, and I hit prepregnancy weight 3 months postpartum... and in fact, I lost an additional 15lbs due to breastfeeding and stress.
Also: I did NOT wear maternity clothes with my 1st pregnancy. My belly didn't get big til Summer, so shelf top tanks, cotton capris & shorts, and bikinis (yes, I said bikinis) were my best friend.
I haven't had much by way of cravings either...... and I'm 30, not 24.
So stop making this young girl feel bad for being small... it's apparently become ok to be overweight and shameful to be skinny. Everyone should be their best them... sorry if you are intimidated by someone who is OBVIOUSLY not built like you.
So thank you, for perpetuating the 'Mommy Wars' and being divisive. You would have been better off not writing such a spiteful, mean-spirited article.
She (nor I) should not be ostracized for not being exactly like you.
As far as post prego weight loss, I lost 20 lbs in the hospital, but it took me another 6 months to lose the other 20 ...that was at age 33 and 5'6" everyone is different tho. Being younger helps.
I don't think this article is divisive, I think it's a call for ANY mom not to saddle herself with too much stress over the weight loss immediately after the baby is born. Give it a month or so...you have so many more important things to do after giving birth than worry about body image.
Snooki isn't just a run of the mill lady. She has the money and resources to make sure every meal she has is balanced for optimum nutrition and to get a personal trainer. So her goal of being back to 100lbs (a normal weight for someone who is only 4'9) isn't some kind of crack pipe dream.
