A lot of weight rides on the name you choose for your kid. And every year when the Social Security office releases the data on the most popular baby names, parents get upset. As a Michele who faced the extreme popularity of my name way back when, I'm here to tell you that if your child's name is on this list, it's going to be just fine. In fact, take pride in knowing your baby name choice won't be ridiculed. Unless of course it's Nevaeh, the name far too many seem to hate. (Not me!) Guess what, though? It made the list!

There's also a strong Kardashian influence seen on both the boy name and girl name list (Mason and Khloe), and while most of the boy names seem traditional or names of kids I know, Gavin, Wyatt, and Julian were just a few names that refreshed the line-up. Perhaps most shocking to me is that Brooklyn came in at 21.

Either way, keep up the good work, America. We're naming our kids well. At least I think so. Check out the top 100 most popular baby names.
