A lot of weight rides on the name you choose for your kid. And every year when the Social Security office releases the data on the most popular baby names, parents get upset. As a Michele who faced the extreme popularity of my name way back when, I'm here to tell you that if your child's name is on this list, it's going to be just fine. In fact, take pride in knowing your baby name choice won't be ridiculed. Unless of course it's Nevaeh, the name far too many seem to hate. (Not me!) Guess what, though? It made the list!
There's also a strong Kardashian influence seen on both the boy name and girl name list (Mason and Khloe), and while most of the boy names seem traditional or names of kids I know, Gavin, Wyatt, and Julian were just a few names that refreshed the line-up. Perhaps most shocking to me is that Brooklyn came in at 21.
Either way, keep up the good work, America. We're naming our kids well. At least I think so. Check out the top 100 most popular baby names.

My daughter's name is not on the list, didn't think it would be and I don't think it will ever make it LoL. So glad to not see my name any more LoL!
My son born in june of 2011 is Ramsey "Landon" and we call him Landon, is daddy wanted him named Ramesy I dont like it but I agreed if his middle name could be Landon and we would call him by it.
My daughter's name is Maridith Rose, born in August 2008, and I am currently pregnant with a boy due in July....his name will be James Michael. It's nice to see that their names will still be original :)
I named my two children Dominick and Adreanna , I really don't care if they are on a list or not, I chose them because I like them , and I still do and always will.
all three of my kids' names are on the list. Dammit.
For the RECORD, I picked my daughter's name when I was 14 years old. When it wasn't popular. The rest of you just wanna be cool like me.... lol.
