Nick Lachey's pregnant wife, Vanessa, has revealed that Nick did the best thing a man can do for his wife during her pregnancy. No, he didn't dash out on midnight ice cream runs for her. No, he didn't tell her how sexy she looked with an enormous belly. (Although we hope he did those things too.) Instead, he did what every man with a pregnant wife should do: He got pregnancy symptoms.
Yep, apparently ol' Nick was more pregnant than Vanessa. She might have been the one carrying the baby, but Nick is the one who got swollen feet, had strange cravings (chili), and felt sick. Said Vanessa:
He's got Pregnancy Dad Syndrome ... He's got the cravings, he's got gas. He's like, "I feel bloated, my back, my feet." He's had me rub his feet!
Okay, I guess that could get annoying. "Honey, can you rub my feet, I'm feeling a little pregnant today?" Puhleese! But there's something charming about it. It really proves that your man is not only aware of your pregnancy, but he's hyper-aware of it, and probably more sympathetic to whatever you might be going through.
Tell a regular Dad you're feeling tired and bloated and maybe he's all, "Buck up, babe!" Tell a Pregnancy Dad this and he's all, "I know! Me too! Let's go get massages."
I mean, I hope this is what it is. I hope Pregnancy Dad doesn't make it all about him. That be super bizarre. But Nick jokes that he "just wanted to be a part of the experience." As long as it is equal parts Pregnancy Mom and Pregnancy Dad, I like the idea.
Have you known a Pregnancy Dad?

When I was pregnant with my DD, my ex always had heartburn when I did.
When my second child was born, after a 24 hour labor, he complained that he was tired and left the hospital to go home and sleep. Needless to say, I didn't find it charming or cute!
