Oh, thank the fertility gods! A brave soul -- who is none other than rock star Pink -- has dared to reveal that, during her pregnancy, she didn't feel like a sunset, a princess, nor a blossoming flower. Nope. Pink says she felt like "a mess."
I'm sooo happy to hear this. Listen to the sister:
I thought I’d feel like a goddess. They sell you on that … like you’ll never feel more feminine. Really, I just felt like a mess ... I gained 55 pounds. I think my baby may be part cheesecake.
I love it. I'm sure there are many women who do feel like a goddess, nay, like a glowing, pulsating, shining goddess of fetus love, but there are many women who do NOT! Yeah, I'm thrilled for Kate Hudson, who said she wishes she could be "pregnant all of the time." I'm in awe of Rachel Zoe, who zipped through her stylish pregnancy in heels. But we need someone like Pink to stand up and say, "I felt like an ogre!"
I have a friend who developed restless leg syndrome during her pregnancy. She couldn't sleep for months. On her way to the hospital, she could only groan about getting the baby out immediately so she could get some shut eye. My aunt had a pregnancy wherein she developed so many disgusting symptoms of so many strange things I'd never heard of before that I still shudder when I think about it. My point is, not every pregnant woman feels like a goddess while they're cooking up a human being. And that is OKAY.
Being pregnant has got to be one of the most difficult jobs in the world, and there's no point in feeling bad about feeling less than Earthy Mother-y while it's happening. Here's to feeling like a big, fat, globby, icky, child-producing MESS!

I am currently on my third pregnancy. I would never have chosen the words goddess or princess, but I love being pregnant. It does not make me feel magical and glowing, I just enjoy it, in spite of some negatives.
For reals!! I feel like a whiny, weepy, ball of ick most of the time....and I'm 6 months in! Still waiting on the "Goddess" b.s. lmao
I love her!!
I love her because she keeps it real!
I feel like roadkill thanks Pink! I think the world of her and she's not afraid to tell it like it is! Puking and pupps are not attractive!
Love that she's honest about it. I loved being pregnant but I know not all woman feel like that. Granted by 37 weeks I was just done and couldn't wait to deliver.
I felt so amazing with my first. With this one? Ugh. I've had issues from the start.
