Most women would never dream of skipping out on their own wedding day unless they get cold feet and run for the hills at the very last minute. I mean, you'd have to have a pretty good excuse for leaving right after the ceremony and not having a big party afterwards, right?
Danielle Clelow was 38 weeks pregnant with her baby boy when she married her husband, Aaron, and much to her shock, she found herself having contractions as she walked down the aisle and recited her vows. She managed to make it through the ceremony and even grabbed a quick sandwich afterwards before she headed to the hospital and delivered her 7-pound, 7-ounce baby, Paddy, at around 6:30 p.m.
And even though she'd just given birth, there was no way Danielle and Aaron were going to miss their wedding reception entirely -- so they were given the ok by doctors to leave the hospital and head to the party at about 10 p.m. -- with their new baby in tow! (Hope they didn't have to pay extra for bringing an unexpected guest.)
This is such a great story, and this couple will definitely never forget their wedding day, but can you even imagine being able to bounce back less than four hours after giving birth and actually go and socialize with people? Maybe I'm just a big wimp, but the whole thing really blows my mind.
After I had my son, I honestly couldn't get out of bed without assistance for at least a good 36 hours or so. I remember when the nurse finally came in and told me it was time to get my act together and take a shower -- I almost cried. The simple act of getting out of that hospital bed, walking five steps to the bathroom, and actually bathing myself was a feat in itself. Never in a million years could I have even taken the elevator down to the hospital cafeteria -- let alone attended my wedding reception!
But then again, if I knew there was a huge party going on in my honor, maybe that would've given me the shot of adrenaline I needed to put on my game face and get back to my guests. And having a few extra slices of wedding cake probably would've helped reel me in too.
Do you have any big events happening around your due date?

Sorry but I was up and walking around 15 minutes after I delivered the placenta LOL
Did you have an epidural?
My dd was born the day after my mom's birthday.
Interesting...I am not sure I would have been getting married that far along but mine all came early too.
I never had any events like that, but one of my SIL's was pregnant with twins when she got married to my brother. Thankfully she didn't go into labor.
Wha... she was surprised? At 38 weeks?
Nothing happening. I guess Easter was near both births, but it got pretty much ignored both times.
I was up walking around, picking up stuff at the store, enjoyong Starbucks and introducing now 5 yo to our neighbor when he was just 4 hioursold.
