Just when you thought we couldn't possibly discuss Jessica Simpson's weight any more, here we go again. You'd think in pregnancy at least we could give her a break, but fat chance. Instead the likes of Joy Behar has to go shooting off her big fat mouth calling Jess out for her weight gain.
On The View this week Behar flat out called Jessica "fat" in no uncertain terms. "Remember the time that Jessica Simpson was criticized because she didn't know the difference between chicken and tuna? That kind of thing is more fun to criticize than the fact that the girl is fat," she said. It was rude, wrong, and not even funny, and Tori Spelling for one is standing up to defend Jess.
Spelling told Celebuzz:
When women are pregnant, people need to lay off. It's a really special time and you should be able to deal with it in your own terms.
Exactly -- lay off! While there are plenty of studies that say excessive weight gain during pregnancy isn't healthy for mother or baby, what's excessive varies greatly for each woman. No one knows how her body is going to react to pregnancy, and no one should judge the way someone else copes with it -- especially another woman. It's one thing to question if someone in the public eye is making healthy choices, but it's another to call them names and criticize their bodies. Shame on Behar.

Sarah Palin, while appearing as a guest co-host on the Today show, also took to defending Jess ... a little more aggressively. "I would have wanted to punch [Jessica's critics] in the neck," she said. "It's none of anybody else's business how much weight I would gain."
Hopefully Jess isn't taking much of this to heart. She's had plenty of practice dealing with the critics, and now she has thoughts of her sweet baby to help her ignore them even more. And with a reported multimillion-dollar deal with Weight Watchers to help her shed the weight post-baby, hopefully she'll get the sweetest revenge by rocking her Daisy Dukes again like Joy Behar never could.
Do you think Joy Behar was wrong to call Jessica Simpson fat? Are you glad to see Tori Spelling defend her?
