Remember how Beyonce got all that bad press for paying the big bucks to lock down an entire wing of Lenox Hill Hospital in order to give birth to Blue Ivy? Well, according to at least one pervasive tabloid rumor, Jessica Simpson is planning for the exact same scenario when she has her baby—down to the private wing, mega security detail, and multimillion dollar price tag. Supposedly, Simpson is planning to spend almost $2 million on delivery day.
$2 million! Man, for that kind of cash, I hope this maternity ward has an Olympic-sized birthing pool, a 24/7 team of Swedish masseurs, and maybe a stunt vagina to take care of all that pesky pushing.
But more importantly, I really hope Simpson is also planning how to avoid the drama Beyonce caused when her fancy A-lister hospital presence kept a dad from seeing his preemie twins.
Simpson has reportedly already rented out an entire hospital wing (for approximately $500,000) so that she can give birth in private. Not only that, she plans to hire 30 armed guards to protect the baby, which is allegedly where the real cost comes in: $1,318,500. According to a "source,"
She’s turning the maternity ward into Fort Knox. If her friends and family want to visit her, they’ll have to make it through numerous checkpoints! She’s terrified of kidnapping. Her head of security just held a pre-birth meeting for her family to brief them on the rules.
Now, this whole thing could be total B.S.—this is a claim from In Touch, after all. Plus, the specific details about 30 armed guards (which mysteriously add up to a cost of $1,318,500? Are these trained ninjas?) makes me more than a little suspicious.
I bet there's some truth to it, though. Jessica Simpson's been pretty lavish with her spending throughout her pregnancy, so it wouldn't surprise me if she really is planning to rent a private wing and have some security in place to make sure no one leaks details to the press. It's not like she doesn't have the money for this kind of thing, and assuming she sells the first baby pictures to the highest magazine bidder afterwards, she'll be getting at least a few million for that alone.
However, I bet she's making damn sure she doesn't get the kind of negative attention Beyonce did after her birth—which is a good thing for any other parents that happen to be sharing her hospital during that time. If you remember, Beyonce's security reportedly kept parents from getting to their newborns in the NICU, which is insane. Here's hoping that if Jessica Simpson really is planning for the star treatment at her hospital, her lavish setup doesn't include burly expensive ninjas disrupting anyone else's birth experience.
Do you think spending millions on a private birth is weird, or does it make sense for ultra-famous celebrities?

I would REALLY like to know how she managed to put weight on everywhere but her face??? lol
All I know is -- I really prefer this cover to her last nekkie one. Much, much better.
It's not particularly unusual for people to be unable to visit their preemies in a NICU for certain periods of time. I once had to wait a couple hours outside the NICU to see me daughter because another baby had passed away and they wanted the family to have as much privacy as they could. It was heartbreaking to sit out in that waiting room thinking about what that family was going through. I had absolutely no problem waiting and neither did any of the other parents in the waiting room.
OMG! Stunt Vagina. Best ever.
they need to not hinder hospitals from doing their jobs. have a freaking home birth, hire a concierge doctor to be there and stfu and leave the hospitals, and patients and their families alone. Its insanity and now it just seems that the tabloids are going to try and outdo the previous "Celebrity Birth" with the lavish stories.
