'Mom-Ed: Childbirth' Day 8: C-Sections Are More Serious Than I Realized (VIDEO)

c-sectionsI've never wanted a c-section. But I've always been of the mind that if, for some reason I had to have one -- I.E. for the good of my baby or myself -- I wouldn't be disappointed. I would never feel like "my body let me down." I've heard many moms lament their unwanted c-section surgeries, almost as if it's their fault. This, I will not do. But I do think I was perhaps a little naive in understanding what a c-section entailed exactly. I didn't realize that it was major surgery.

In today's Mom-Ed: Childbirth video from CafeMom Studios, Alice and Eden talk all about c-sections. They speak with a fancy New York City doctor and one of his patients who had an unplanned c-section with her second child. Check out the video. I guarantee you you'll learn a thing or two.

Did not know that this is such serious surgery. I mean, I knew that it was a knife cutting through you, but I didn't realize that you'd be virtually out of commission for two weeks or so. That doesn't seem very convenient after having a child. And why does it seem like celebrities are back at 'em such a short while later? Maybe time is different in Hollywood?

Anyway, I'm definitely slightly frightened of having a c-section now. Like I said, I guess I was a little naive as to how serious it was. Perhaps I shouldn't have watched this video. Ignorance is bliss, right? Now I have yet another thing to worry about. Great.
