Yes, it's great for both the mama-to-be and baby if a woman's pregnancy cravings are more along the lines of broccoli and broiled chicken, but it's much more fun when they crave totally crazy things. I love to live vicariously through the amazing combinations pregnant women concoct and the vast amounts they ingest. And frankly, it's kind of disappointing when they don't. Beyonce's true pregnancy cravings are a big disappointment; in fact, they're downright boring.
In an interview with Katie Couric on 20/20 Friday, she talked about how she's really trying not to go overboard and pig out while pregnant.
I’ve been really conscious and I’ve been trying my best not to lose control. Because I’ve met so many people that say, "My second baby, my third baby, I’ve learned my lesson." So I haven’t been going crazy.
Rumors have said otherwise, but she says it's not true that she's been binging on ketchup, hot sauce, and ice cream. Not everyone is so easily convinced. She shared this funny story with Katie:
I was on a plane and the flight attendant came and was like, "I have your hot sauce and pickles and bananas." And I’m like, "That is absolutely disgusting, what are you doing?" He’s like, "I read it on the Internet."
What a party pooper. No really, good for her and her little baby, but maybe in the final leg of her pregnancy, she'll indulge a little more and indulge our pregnancy fantasies.
As for when that final leg is and when her baby is actually due, no one knows for sure, but Katie seems to think he or she is going to make an entrance into the world sometime around Christmas or New Year's. Can't wait!

My cravings have been relatively normal, and pretty much only really bad during the 1st trimester. With this baby, it was chocolate milkshakes. A chocolate milkshake was the only thing that would satisfy my hunger. Fortunately Arby's has little "value size" milkshakes that were just the right size to give me my fix without going overboard. I'm pretty much over cravings right now. I only get them occasionally and they're pretty random. Usually for Thai food.
I don't have cravings. But anything salty, greasy, or sweet just turns my stomach. I eat SO much better when pregnant. The thought of unhealthy food turns my stomach. I only wish that stayed AFTER the baby came. :(
I have to say that I think most "cravings" are in pregnant womens heads and are things they would want to eat even if they werent pregnant. I didnt have real cravings with my first, sometimes really wanted something but not like it would make me leave the house in the middle of hte night kinda thing. Now 4 and a half months into the second and have had no cravings, only adversions in the 1st tri.
I see and know too many women who give in to every little whim of what they want to eat while pregnant and have yet to meet one that doesnt regret it after the baby is born. just saying...
hutchfam2007: Why bother to read the comment if you have so much disdain for the topic/idea? On another note, I accidentally discovered the most delicious combo when i was PG that to this day I still consume. Blue Bells home made vanilla ice cream eaten with Cool Ranch Doritos as a scoop. The tangy salty crispiness of the chips paired with the smooth cold sweetness of the ice cream. Bliss.
hutchfam2007: a craving IS something you really want O_O (dictionary.com is what you need) lol. its a food craving. if you want it.. eat it. Duh! when i was pregant with DD 4 years ago i always wanted scrambled egg sandwhiches on cinnamon raison beagels with peanut butter and loads of cheese and bacon xD suprising it was good. would never eat that again though! Just the egg with cheese and bacon sandwich.
