Jessica Simpson Announces Baby's Sex by Accident

20

Jessica SimpsonWhen it comes to pregnant celebrities to watch, Jessica Simpson is the current "it" girl. We want to know all about what she's eating (cantaloupe), and how she's feeling (good, no morning sickness). Most of all, though, we want to know the baby's sex.

Pink or blue? Blue or pink? We need to know because ... well, just because we want to know. Recently, she may have accidentally slipped and given us a pretty big clue. Any guesses?

It's a boy! Well, that is if we read correctly into comments she recently made to Us Weekly. Speaking of her creative "mummy" costume she used to reveal her pregnancy to the world, she said: "My kid's going to think I'm pretty cool! This is a cool thing to welcome him to the world with."

HIM? Hmmm.

Perhaps it's just because she's always pictured herself having a boy. In March she tweeted, "Dreamt that I had a son named Tenacious D. That was a strange one." It also could have totally been just a slip of the tongue, or even a little trick to throw us all off-course and keep us guessing. My husband and I always called the baby something generic like "it" until we knew what he or she was, because it felt too weird to call it one or another -- like we were wishing for one or something. But I'm sure everyone has their own way.

In any case, let's hope she doesn't use that name if it is a boy, but I can see her as a great boy mom. Plus, he could totally inherit the stylish wardrobe hand-me-downs from his cousin, Bronx Mowgli Wentz.

Of course, a little girl would be great too. I can just imagine all the frilly little outfits Jess would dress her up in. Hopefully, there would be no daisy dukes though.

Do you hope Jessica Simpson has a boy or a girl? Do you think her comments mean she knows she's having a boy?

I really don't care what she has as long the baby is health

You're reading too much into it. Before we found out our daughter's gender, we interchanged he/she all the time. And even after we knew she was a girl, the occasional "he" would slip out. It happens.

Up until we found out the sex of our daughter, we called her "he", "she" and "junior". Easier to say than "he/she" or "the baby" :-)

I don't think she necessarily announced the gender. I called my baby "him" from day one and my husband called teh baby "her". The baby turned out to be a boy, but I absolutely could not call my child "it". That just seemed so wrong to me. Babies are little people, and people aren't things.

I used to refer to my daughter as him or he before we knew her sex.

i said on another web site that i thought she looked as if she was having a girl, so i hope she does so i can be right ! : )     i called my first pregnancy "him" all the time and was accused of knowing for sure it was a boy and just keeping it from my family..  i didn't at all, i just used him instead of it....  it turned out i did have a boy and to this day, my family still doesn't believe me when i say i never knew for sure......

Could just be what she says. My youngest I kept saying she and her. I had a boy. I just had a feeling he was a girl.

I didn't even know she was pregnant. I'm not a huge fan of hers, so I guess I don't really care what she has, as long as the baby's healthy. After all, that is the most important thing. For myself.... I never ever called my baby in my belly "it". I hate that. I get automatically irritated when I hear pregnant women say that. Call your baby "baby", but not it, please! I never did find out the sex of my children until they were born, but would refer to them as "he" or "she", based on what I was thinking I was having. I did manage to guess right all 3 times, and only with my second pregnancy was I really hoping for one sex over the other. (Girl). For my boys, I just didn't care, but did manage to guess right :)

Just a healthy baby is all we could ask for

Most people pick a gender pronoun to use for their unborn because if they say "it" everyone throws a tantrum.
