Kate Middleton Pregnancy Might Be Royals' Biggest Secret

Maybe Kate Middleton's refusal to eat that peanut butter the other week really did mean something after all! In Touch magazine is reporting that a "palace insider" who has "correctly revealed other royal secrets" says Prince William and his wife are, in fact, expecting a little royal ... in a bit less than eight months. That's right, according to the magazine's source, Kate Middleton is now about six weeks pregnant with the couple's first child!

The relative newlyweds are said to be already at work on the royal nurseries (there will be three, in as many palaces and cottages) and thinking about names: "Something traditional," the source says, adding that William, especially, is hoping for a girl, who, according to new equal-opportunity rules, would be as eligible to inherit the throne as a firstborn boy.

The palace, for its part, is playing it cagey, refusing to confirm or deny. But really, a new baby, a little royal baby, with a future claim to the crown, would be exciting news indeed!

Of course, if she does, in fact, have a royal bun in the royal oven, Kate will have to go through the royal trials and tribulations of her royal pregnancy first: the royal hormone surges, the royal sleeping challenges, the royal pains in the ... well ... who can predict where she'll feel those royal pains? All of our pregnancies are special in their own royally distinct ways, I suppose. At least Kate will have her royal staff to do her royal pregnant bidding -- the emergency royal ice-cream, ginger ale, and saltine runs to the all-night grocery that's closest to the palace, for instance.

But if true, the rumors mean that we'll have a new cute, plump, mini royal to watch grow -- from birth to christening to a host of other life-cycle events -- over the coming years. Kate and Will's happy news (if and when they make it official) would be happy news for us all. Royal mazel tovs all around!

I honestly feel so bad for their child(ren). Growing up with this spotlight and media attention, I can only imagine. I wouldn't want my kids growing up with that and I really hope they can find a way to maintain some balance of normalcy, though I doubt it.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but why is the US so obsessed with the royalty of the very country the revolutionaries so despised? I mean, sure things aren't as tense now, but why do so many people basically worship royalty that doesn't rule us? I see at least ten times more articles here about "Will and Kate" than the Obamas.

Of course, what did I expect from the same people than decicated so manyl articles to Kim Kardashian rather than people who actually matter.

Unlike like the majority of celebs and high level politicians they are no strangers to raising kids in the limelight. William grew up like that as did his brother and cousins and the generation above him. I'm sure they have plenty of tricks up their sleeves. Honestly I don't remember seeing all that much in the media about them growing up and I started reading newspapers shortly after William was born. Unless one of the royal kids did something really bad (usually one of Fergie's) you rarely saw them in the papers and when they were there it was incidental. Sure there will be events amd such but it's not like Kate is going to get attacked by paparazzi trying to drop the kid off at preschool.

I'm sure when they have children they will do their best to keep the media at bay. William has already proven himself to be so protective of Kate, I can only imagine he will be even more so with their future children.

And all the pregnancy speculation is cracking me up over here.

IF she is pregnant we will all know very soon, She is SOOOO stick thin, it will be obvious very soon... sounds like a rumor to me tho.

Oh I feel sorry for anyone that has to marry into that. It's probably why he finally married her, they are both getting a little long in the tooth.

Announcing your pregnancy is a joyous occasion but where's the fun for her? Magazines and stupid articles have been declaring her pregnant nearly weekly since they got married... when she really IS pregnant, everyone will be sickk to death of hearing about it.

Hope the news is true....I really adored Princess diana and watching her two boys grow with her wonderful influence was wonderful....It will be so nice to see diana's son have a baby of his own..so happy for them......

Why is it so important to know if this girl is carrying or not! The baby will be third in line. Remember, the Queen is there right now and then it is Charley, then Billy and then the baby. Rumors have it that the Queen wants Charles to step aside and let his son take the chair when his mom passes. This Queen is not the type to step down. She will die in the chair, then there will be the fight to determine who will be next in line, unless mum has already set it in writing that Billy takes over. It really doesn't matter because the royals have absolutely no control over anything that goes on within the island's confines or any other place they control. These people live free off the people in the country and could care less about their people. If England were smart they would do away with the system and take a ton of the money the families have, which is in the billions! They have all this money plus houses, planes, boats, etc. and they still draw salaries! For doing what!!! There is so much inbreeding within their ranks. I believe this is the first couple that don't have any links or that is what everybody has been told. Too much talk about them! There are more important items than trying to find out if this girl is pregnant. The son is acting like his dad. The wife isn't allow to go anywhere without his knowing where and when, while he goes wherever he likes. Great two party system.
