If you believe everything you read, like I've been known to do, Beyonce has had some weird pregnancy cravings so far, and she doesn't give a rat's about chowing down -- big time -- since she's learned she's with child.
First we found out that, during her first trimester, the singer was craving -- and actually eating -- things like bananas dipped in ketchup, Oreos and pickles, and ice cream with hot chili sauce. Now, word on the street is she's currently downing French fries. By the bucket-full.
I'm all about indulging a little while you're pregnant, but girl, this is just too much.
First, when Beyonce was recently asked what her pregnancy cravings were, she said: "I have been eating French fries but then I have always loved French fries!" Then, before hitting a party in New York for her new fragrance, Pulse, a source said that Mrs. Z ordered a plate of the salty snacks from room service.
Look, Beyonce looks fantastic. And she doesn't appear to have gained an exorbitant amount of weight so far (she actually looks perfect), so she can't be going too crazy. But, I don't know, French fries all the time when you're pregnant? I'm kind of against that.
I get that certain women really don't feel well during pregnancy. And if all they can eat is fried, salty treats, well, go for it. Better that than nothing. But for the women who feel fine -- like Beyonce certainly seems to -- I think it's important to try to be somewhat healthy while you're carrying a little human. Not just for them, for you, too!
Since I've been pregnant, I've tried to eat like I normally do, which is pretty healthy, if I do say so myself. And for the most part, I've felt great. The days I haven't eaten totally healthful (an entire bag of Chipotle tortilla chips, anyone?), I've felt pretty crappy. And crappy is something I want to avoid while pregnant -- if it's something I can control.
So, if Beyonce's eating French fries once in a while, good for her. No harm, no foul. But if that's all she's eating, well, I don't think it's the best idea. Especially if they were preceded by Oreos and pickles.

My pregnancy cravings have been anything with mustard and Cap'n Crunch. Not at the same time though.
What is wrong with that? I ate whatever my heart desired and ate out every day almost. I didn't gain too much weight and my son is perfectly healthy!!!! He has never had any problems with anything and was normal weight. He is even advanced for his age. I did take my prenatal vitamins religiously and made sure I ate vegetables and fruits but I didn't really eat healthy other than snacks. I ate potatoes most days. It is ok to indulge.
Look, I understand that Beyonce's pregnancy is news. I like to read about it. But are you with her all the time? She said she likes fries. She ate some fries. Big freaking deal. And just because she "seems" to feel fine doesn't mean that she does. She's an entertainer, smiling is part of her job.
Get off the woman's plate already.
I craved KFC mashed potatoes and gravy with the first, anything I could keep down with the second, Tacos with the third, and hot tamales candy or cinnamon stuff with the fourth. To be honest, with my first I didn't eat right, I was young and didn't think about things. He was the easiest baby ever. With my second, I ate all healthy, no caffiene, low sugar etc.. and he had crazy colic, all kinds of skin problems... just a generally harder babydom. With the third and fourth you can bet yer butt I went back to whatever and they were both amazingly awesomely easy kids. SO whatevs.
I have to say, I generally look the other way when I see a pregnant woman eating something that she probably shouldn't. Heck, I ate rare steaks and sushi when I was pregnant, so who am I to judge if a woman has a hankering for Oreos and fries? It's ridiculous how people feel it's their God-given duty to police pregnant women and mothers-especially new mothers. That said, pregnancy cravings...my big ones were citrus fruits and whole milk-that one was odd to me, as I normally can't stand whole milk. Other than that, I just ate what I usually did before pregnancy-maybe slightly bigger proportions, but nothing too off the wall. One thing in this article I do agree with is that eating crappy during pregnancy made me feel crappy, so I tried to curb the urge to shovel in the junk.
She's a celebrity. She probably only eats them once in a while and has a chef and nutritionist on call to make sure she eats well the rest of the time.
My cravings change a lot. From salty to sweet. Depends on my mood.
