Well, this was a pleasant surprise to wake up to. Sort of. Former Lost star Evangeline Lilly is pregnant! Like, really pregnant. The 31-year-old was recently spotted sporting a serious bump. Could this be a record in Hollywood for managing to stay mum on a private matter for so long? Either way, yay for her! She's young, rich, drop dead gorgeous, and now she's got a little bundle of joy on the way! Could life get any better for her? I'm guessing no.
But, what about me? You're really pregnant, Kate Evangeline, huh? And it's not with Jack's or Sawyer's baby? Will you at least name the baby Aaron in a nod to Claire? No? Wow, that's cold. I guess this means Lost is really over. Wait, what's that, you say? You're currently in Hawaii as we speak? And the baby daddy is a production assistant from the show? Well, look at that. Looks like we're both having trouble letting go.
Check it. First Evangeline dated Lost co-star Dominic Monaghan, aka Charlie Pace, member of the band Driveshaft. Now she's pregnant with production assistant Norman Kali's baby. (Side bar -- as somebody who was once a production assistant, or P.A., as we called it in the biz, damn, that's impressive! No offense, Norman, but a P.A. is, like, the lowest guy on the totem poll. Props to you for scoring a lead actress. And kudos to you, Evangeline, for not giving a crap about status!) Anyway, and Evangeline's still in Hawaii. Can we say "trouble letting go"? Don't be embarrassed, girlfriend, I totally know how you feel.
I mean, it was Lost. If there ever were a show where both the characters, and real life actors (and me!), would experience Stockholm syndrome after it ended, I imagine this would be it. We went through a lot together. The hatch, time travel, the others -- you can't just turn that off when the director yells cut. That stuff runs deep. So, I feel you, Evangeline. Don't worry. It's completely normal if you only want a woman named Juliet to deliver your baby. Okay, if anyone reading this didn't watch Lost, this is just totally going over your head. On to something else.
I also want to say that I'm happy for Evangeline, because I know she always really wanted a child of her own. Note a child of her own. According to the star, if she's ever to have another baby, it will be someone else's.
I have always wanted to have a child of my own and I will always want to go through the gift that women have been given to experience that, so I hope to be a mother at some point. I think I can allow myself one child -- and from then on, I think I would have to adopt. It makes sense not to add to the population problem.
I guess we'll have to just wait and see what happens after this one. But if Evangeline continues to have her life imitate her art, Emilie de Ravin (Claire) better watch her back!
What do you think of Evangeline Lilly's pregnancy? And how much do you miss Lost?!
