Yes, it's true, the Duggar family who brought 19 children into the world is expecting another addition to their family -- only it's a second grandchild this time for Michelle and Jim Bob. Their son Josh and his wife Anna are due June 19, and on the most recent episode of 19 Kids & Counting, the baby's sex was revealed to the family via skywriting.
Interesting approach, but anyway, it's a BOY. It will be their second child in less than two years (big sister Mackynzie is currently 17 months), which has people wondering if there's going to be another ginormous brood of Duggars.
While most of the world shouts a resounding, please no!, in an interview with People, Josh said maybe.
It's really not about the number of children you have, but how well are you doing with the children that God has given you. We're really just going to take it one at a time. I don't think you can say we're going to set out and say we're going to have five kids or four or three. We have no control over that. God has the control. Obviously, we can do things to prevent that, but I'm glad my parents didn't just settle to have three or four children. There are definitely a lot of advantages to trusting [in God].
Yeah, but what about money, and food, and clothes, and the insanity, and a million other things that stop families at just a couple of children?
I would look at it from the other side: There's always room for one more. There are arguments on both sides, and obviously we hear them all, and everybody has their own opinion, and that's something we have to realize every day as well. We've been doing this in the public eye for a long time, and you get a lot of scrutiny and a lot of negative comments, but we also hear a lot of positive comments ... There's not any one of my siblings that I wouldn't want to have in my life.
There are plenty of people who are outraged at this family's plentiful procreation, but they seem to have it plenty together. I'm not a fan of the show, and I can barely handle my two children, but it's their life, their family, and their sanity at sake -- not mine, thank all things holy! There are plenty of tragic stories of families much worse into which one could be born. So congratulations Josh and Anna, if you saw what life was like growing up in a big family and weren't completely scared by the thought of having one of your own, then that's probably the best testament to the fact that it's not such a bad life.
Personally, more concerning to me than the size of their family is if they're going to give all their children names beginning with "M," since every one of the elder Duggars' children starts with a "J." To that, I'll offer my own PLEASE, NO!
Do you think Josh and Anna will have a family as large as Jim Bob and Michelle? Do you care if they do?
