Staff at a British hospital mistakenly sent an official letter to a 50-year-old man, Hilton Plettell, informing him that he was pregnant with twins and was expected to give birth in seven months. It went on to invite him in for an ultrasound and to "please attend with a full bladder."
The only problem? Plettell obviously wasn't pregnant. Moreover, he had only visited that particular hospital once -- 15 years ago for a kidney stones operation.
To say he was surprised is the understatement of the year.
And his partner, Debbie Brennan, was astonished as well. She joked:
It certainly isn't mine -- I haven't a clue how it happened ... Everyone thinks it's so funny, but I'm extremely happy for him.
Good thing these people are so good-natured. The hospital for its part has apologized to Plettell and is looking into the matter.
