Ian Ziering -- best known as Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills 90210 -- is expecting his first child with wife Erin Ludwig.
The baby girl is due in April.
Ziering tells People.com:
Erin and I are very excited to be parents. It's something we both have always wanted. (Erin) is four-and-a-half months along, and we both are beyond excited.
Ziering, 46, has come a long way since his 90210 days. He was married once before to model Nikki Schieler Ziering but that ended in divorce in 2002. He and his new wife must have really wanted to try for babies, though, since they were just married in May.
Congratulations to the (newlywed) couple!
Ziering's first marriage ended in divorce after five years. His former wife was a Playboy model who converted to Judaism to marry Ziering. When the marriage ended, they cited irreconcilable differences. Although it was rumored to be amicable, divorce is never easy and Ziering waited a long time before walking down that aisle for the second time.
His second wife, Erin, is a nurse to whom he announced he was engaged in February of this year.
Career-wise it seems things have been on the downturn for the actor who was famous for playing the kind of spoiled, kind of obnoxious rich kid/son of a famous actress on the 1990s version of 90210.
At the time, he seemed racy, but compared to the new 90210 crop of kids, Ziering, who grew up in New Jersey -- far from the California coast -- seems positively tame.
Since this is something he has clearly wanted for a while, it's an exciting development and will also hopefully help resuscitate Ziering's acting career.
You never know, right?
