Pregnancy Tests: Coming to a Vending Machine Near You

pregnancy testBuying a pregnancy test is tantamount to announcing: hey, I've been having sex!

Not necessarily embarrassing, but it can be awkward. You don't have to be a prude to think pregnancy tests landing in vending machines could save you a red-cheeked moment or two.

Unfortunately, you'll have to travel overseas for the convenience.

Currently the only machines doling out the pee sticks are in Austria and England.

But they're popular -- Fox News reports a few people have complained that they thought they were getting chocolate (good Lawd, please don't let those idiots be pregnant), but they're otherwise a hit.

When I was trying to conceive, I hated buying pregnancy tests. I was both an adult and married, but I live in a small town where the pregnancy tests are kept behind the customer service counter at the local grocery store.

And the woman who mans the counter just happens to live down the street from my parents. She's known me since I was born.

I always worried she was going to go blabbing to my parents before there was anything to blab about.

The machines would solve stores' fear that the tests are going to walk off if they're put on regular shelves, but save women having to face a family friend when it's time to pay for the purchase.

Were you ever uneasy about buying your pregnancy tests?
