Rumors have been swirling for the past few years that Portia De Rossi, the amour of comedienne and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, is pregnant -- or trying to get pregnant. But the Arrested Development star denied rumors that she was having invitro fertilization (IVF), saying they were "made up."
But there are a few things that have happened as of late that might lead a CSI-minded character to leap to the conclusion that DeGeneres and De Rossi will be adding to their family sometime in the near future (or maybe already have).
- Ellen quit American Idol after only one season as judge. She said in a statement, "A couple months ago, I let Fox and the 'American Idol' producers know that this didn't feel like the right fit for me." DeGeneres said that while she "loved discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings." Or maybe she just wanted more free time to be home with her ... baby?
- Portia De Rossi has filed a petition in L.A. County Superior Court to legally change her last name to Portia Lee James DeGeneres. The petition says, "Petitioner is taking the last name of her spouse." Hmm ... is that so they can both have the same last name as their kid?
- This weekend, Ellen tweeted: "Another funny baby was born this weekend. Congrats to my friends Amy Poehler and Will Arnett on their new son." Okay, so what does she mean by "another"?
