"Mariah is not pregnant," said Cannon, host of America's Got Talent. "The timing has to be right. But I can't wait to be a dad!"
When Carey announced she would no longer be starring in Tyler Perry's film For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, many of us thought and hoped she was. Especially when her representative said, "She is not doing the movie because her doctor advised her not to."
Given that, plus her recent weight gain, and a sighting of Carey and Cannon leaving a building that houses a fertility clinic, I have to wonder if she may have been pregnant and perhaps had a miscarriage. I hope not, but that's the first thing I thought of when I saw Cannon's statement.
As someone who went through several heartbreaking miscarriages and years of devastating infertility, I can't imagine doing it as the whole world wonders and waits. I hope that's not her plight and that rumors are just rumors, but given her age, 40, it wouldn't be surprising either.
In any case, I hope they get the baby they want someday soon, and we can leave all the speculation behind.
Do you think Mariah Carey will make a good mother?
