We're pregnant, but we're not perfect ...

This week's confession:

"My husband and I decided before we got pregnant that we wouldn't find out the gender of the baby, but once I learned I really was expecting, I changed my mind. So I tried to change his mind too, but he wouldn't budge. He really wants to be surprised, and he didn't want me to find out either. He said it wouldn't be the same, wouldn't be a true 'surprise' if one of us knew.

"I agreed with him, but the other day at my 28-week ultrasound, I couldn't stand it anymore and asked the tech to tell me. It's a boy!! I'm so happy and my husband is going to be crazy happy, I so want to tell him he's going to get what he wished for, but now I'm feeling incredibly guilty about betraying a promise. And I have no idea how I'm going to keep my knowing a secret." -- anonymous

Is it wrong for one parent to learn the baby's gender against the other parent's wishes?
