Photo by Christine CoppaRock-star-hot-mama, Gwen Stefani, looks fierce on the cover of In Style, UK and is no doubt a girly-girl, with her blond hair and red lips. But, you won't find her buying little dresses and ballerina slippers -- she's got two sons, Kingston and Zuma.
She tells In Style, UK, "I mean, it does seem weird that I don’t have a girl." As a single mom to a little boy, I know exactly what she means.
When I found out I was single and going to be having a baby myself (my boyfriend bailed when I was 11 weeks pregnant), I wished for a girl. What!? The Gilmore Girls make it look so easy and frilly and sweet. When I found out I was having a boy, I took a big gulp. Bigger than you're thinking. Did you have gender disappointment?
Well, my son is turning 3 in August and he's such a Mama's Boy. I couldn't imagine my life without him, even though I always imagined I'd have a little girl to dress in pink -- and maybe one day I will. For now, I'm blessed to have a little guy in my life that often smells like cookies and OK, dirt, loves buggy-watching (similar to bird, but think worms, spiders, and other creepy crawlers), and who loves the color "gween!" (We're pictured above -- squeeee!)
What about you? Do you have a son or daughter or both? Are you hoping for a girl or boy?
