We're pregnant, but we're not perfect ...

This week's confession:

I'm telling strangers I'm eight months pregnant instead of seven months.

I never minded being told I look huge, but in the past week, it's started bothering me. At my 28-week appointment, I was measuring at exactly 28 centimeters, but I'm only 5'1" and carrying high so I look like all belly.

Now at 30 weeks, I've gained 20 pounds and I'm getting frustrated because I feel and look huge. Throw in comments from strangers, and I'm now lying about my due date.

Is that evil of me?

Question: Is it really that bad to lie about your due date to keep strangers from making judgments about your weight?

I am now 31 weeks and have gained 30lbs. This is the largest I have been in my entire life and looking in the mirror sometimes really sucks. Most women, even when not pregnant are already conflicted about their bodies. I honestly hated being pregnant when the weight started coming on but then I looked at the larger picture. My child :-) He will be my first and hopefully not my last. You can lose the weight after birth, it will be tough but I know that the happiness that my child will bring me will make up for all of the sadness that came on throughout my pregnancy. Just know that as women, we will never be satisfied with our bodies, its just what society and the media have put in our minds but we can still be comfortable or make ourselves as comfortable as possible. It just takes time and dedication but YOU can bounce back from pregnancy :-) The mental part of pregnancy has thrown me for a loop so I totally understand how hard it is to accept the size you are now. But everyone is going to have their own opinions, even after you give birth. Just keep what you like and throw out the rest, you and your child are all that matter now :-) I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well...

Nah, who cares?  If people weren't so nosy and always making inappropriate comments, you wouldn't feel like you had to lie!

If you feel better telling a white lie about your due date then go ahead. It isn't hurting anyone. I am 5' too and gained 75lbs with my son!!! Talk about HUGE! My little guy now 3 years only weighed 7 pounds at birth! Not the10 lbs. I thought he would weigh. LOL! I did lose 30 lbs. right after birth though. I still have about 15 lbs. left to lose. You will be fine and have a wonderful little one to snuggle and love FOREVER! Mommyhood is worth every pound every stretch mark!

My first pregnancy (about 2 yrs ago) I stood a mere 4'11'' tall.  I weighed 95 pounds and was lying about my due date by the time I was 6 mo. along.  I had gained a total of 65 pounds and it was awful.  Now (second child) i have 6 weeks left to go and only gained 20 pounds and am still lying.  Last week at the grocery store I ran into my ex-fiance's sister and told her I was due any day (still having 6 weeks left) I look like a swallowed a basketball which is supposedly what your supposed to look like but I hate it.  Keep it up girl! who cares!  You'll make it thru and loosing the weight is really not that hard once your chasing a toddler
