It's about time because I'm not sure how much more True Blood withdrawal I can take. Like the promos say, Waiting Sucks (premiere is June 13, only two months to go).
Now there's a show with characters of pretty typical names -- Bill, Eric, Sam, Tara, Jason ... all except for Sookie Stackhouse, the main character.
It's seems like such an unusual name, but in a way it's not at all. It's simply a nickname for Susannah, a pretty typical name.
According to the Name Lady on Parent Dish, Sookie is one of the hottest rising baby names for 2010.
True Blood author Charlaine Harris chose the name Sookie for her lead character after the name of her grandmother's best friend, according to an interview on the blog LiveJournal. She also thinks it's charming.
