Christian Louboutin's New 'Nude' Shoe Line Is a Win for All Women -- Yes, Really

christian louboutin nudesIt's rare that a fashion statement actually makes a statement, but Christian Louboutin's recently expanded line of "nude" flats does just that. Realizing that most "nude" shoes don't match more than one or two skin tones, Louboutin's new line of Solasofia flats comes in seven shades -- a veritable rainbow of neutrals!

After all, nude doesn't look the same for everyone. And while that might seem like an obvious fact, it's one that's been historically overlooked in the fashion industry. To make matters worse, it seems true inclusivity is still a long way away: According to a tally conducted by the Fashion Spot, models at spring 2016 fashion weeks in London, New York, Milan, and Paris were over 70 percent white. (Balenciaga featured exclusively white models in March.)

So it's a really big deal that Louboutin is making an effort to show an appreciation for diversity. The brand did it in 2013 with a line of five shades of "nude" pumps, which was expanded to seven in 2015 ... and now includes flats. (Yes, flats!). Plus, the shoes are gorgeous:

Exquisite!! Want. Them. ALL! And the campaign couldn't be lovelier. These photos are simply to die for:

What a stunning way to send a message! I want to believe that this will inspire other designers to follow suit. Unlike so many trends, this is one everybody should get behind. Because this is about so much more than shoes -- it's about the need for a new standard of beauty. One that's truly beautiful!
