Sacha Baron Cohen & Isla Fisher Donate $1 Million to Syrian Refugee Children

God bless this couple! Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have donated a million dollars to help Syrian refugees, and it's obvious that they have embodied the spirit of the season.

The movie star couple donated the funds to two different charities to help the refugees in need, especially children. They gave to Save the Children and the International Rescue Committee, and it will benefit millions of homeless victims both inside and out of Syria as the horrendous civil war rages on over there.

Thanks to the money they donated, more than 250,000 children will be vaccinated against a potential measles outbreak, and countless families will be helped with education, health care, and sanitation.

Justin Forsyth, the CEO of Save the Children, released a statement saying, "By allowing us to make their generous donation to Syrian children public, Sacha and Isla are helping highlight the tragedy of the issue today ... These are desperate times for Syrian families facing bombs, bullets and torture in Syria. The couple’s donation will save many thousands of lives and protect some of the most vulnerable children."

This is so awesome. Celebs definitely have a voice, and can raise awareness for such needs, but there's something extra special about those who choose to put their money where their mouths are. What's happening in Syria is tragic, but Sacha and Isla are doing what they can to make it less awful for the victims.

They were no doubt inspired by their three children, Olive, 8, Elula, 5, and Montgomery, 9 months, but for whatever the reason, their generous donation will be much appreciated. What a wonderful Christmas gift to give.
