Bloomingdale's Ad Suggests You Drug Your Friends This Holiday Season (PHOTO)

holidayYikes! This holiday season just keeps getting crazier. First the Starbucks Red Cup Gate; now Bloomingdale's has had to apologize for the bizarrely inappropriate ad in its holiday catalog. Are you ready for this?

The caption, in case you can't read it, says: "Spike your best friend's eggnog when they're not looking."

I mean ... in what decade would something like this be considered amusing? At all?

I find their use of "they" very interesting. As all my fellow grammar lovers will know (WHERE MY GRAMMAR LOVERS AT?) (Ha.), it should either be "his" drink or "her" drink. Which makes me wonder if at some point in the creative process, SOMEONE thought, Gee, "Spike your best friend's eggnog when she's not looking" sounds just maybe a little off!

By using the grammatically incorrect "their," I suppose it's a little more open to interpretation, like ... maybe the guy is the best friend, about to get his drink spiked?

Still not okay!

As usual, we can count on the Internet for the best reactions to the ad ...

And finally, my personal favorite:

Oh dear. I actually feel sorry for the person who's getting in trouble right now for this. At least Bloomingdale's did the right thing and swiftly apologized!

Let's hope this is the last of the Holiday Retail Horrors of 2015!
