Sarah and Bristol Palin Say If Josh Duggar Is a 'Child Molester,' Lena Dunham Is Too

Bristol Palin has been in the news recently for calling off her wedding to Medal of Honor winner Dakota Johnson, but she made headlines on Friday for an entirely different matter. The former First Daughter of Alaska stirred the pot on the Josh Duggar molestation scandal, and asked the question that many have been asking for weeks -- why was it OK for Lena Dunham to molest her baby sister, but not for Josh to do the same?

Before I go any further, let me say that I am sickened by by Josh and Lena's actions. I think they were both wrong, and I think their parents could have handled it better.

But that's a serious question -- why was Lena peering into her one-year-old sister's vagina considered an anecdote, while Josh's over-the-clothes petting of his sisters considered monstrous?

Bristol pointed out in a blog post that Lena wrote in her book, Not That Kind of Girl, that she used her sister, "essentially as a sexual outlet, bribing her to kiss her for prolonged periods and even masturbating while she is in the bed beside her."

Ummm ... yeah.

Former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was quick to rally the troops for her daughter, citing Bristol's blog post on her Facebook page while calling out the double standard of the media.

She lambasted the Girls star in all caps, saying:

She went on to say that she she was in no way defending the 19 Kids and Counting star for his "obvious wrongdoing over a decade ago," but trying to put the focus back on the victims of such crimes.

"The main victim in any story like this isn't the perpetrator, it's the innocent ones so harmfully affected. I'm not an apologist for any sexual predator, but I'm sickened that the media gives their chosen ones a pass for any behavior as long as they share their leftwing politics,"she wrote.

She continued, "Case in point, they suggest Lena Dunham's sexual assault on her sibling is cute, and she's rewarded for it with fame and fortune. Meanwhile, they crucify another, along with an entire family."

Sarah also said that she'd like to see the focus shift from Josh Duggar's "obvious wrongdoing" to two other important conversations. First for "destroying the public's trust in law enforcement" by leaking the sealed police report to the press, and second, for the "media's hell-bent mission to go after the entire Duggar family for one member’s wrongdoing."

She claimed that the media gives a "total pass to perverted actions of someone like Lena Dunham –- or any other leftwinger celeb caught doing awful things."

I can't say that I disagree with her there. Why was it "cute" for Lena Dunham to sexually molest her little sister, but a crime for Josh to feel up his sisters, over their clothes?

They were both wrong, and they both should have been called out as such.

Do you think Lena got a pass for molesting her little sister, or was it completely different?
