Troubled Mom Repeatedly Chokes 15-Month-Old Son & Thankfully It’s Caught on Camera

mother chokes sonHorrifying news out of Indianapolis -- 20-year-old Dashana Oldham is facing over a dozen felony charges after authorities say she choked her 15-month-old son, repeatedly, on camera, in the hospital. She had brought him in for medical attention, claiming he was having episodes where he would become unresponsive for a few minutes. The doctors hooked up a monitor to her son's brain and saw that there were unexplainable dips in oxygen levels ... dips that were later explained when they discovered Oldham on a hospital camera choking her son while he screamed, kicked, and gasped for breath.

Then, after she'd choked her son, she pressed the nurses' call button, for help.

Clearly something is very, very wrong with Oldham. She is not putting together that her son is having these "episodes" because she is the one choking him. How that's even possible, I'm not sure, but it's obvious that something is not right with Oldham.

To that end, she admitted to the cops that she was unhappy that the doctors were unable to diagnose her son's condition, and then started choking him, again, to illustrate the problem he was having.

I feel terrible for Oldham, and of course, her son. Who knows if she has some sort of projected Munchhausen syndrome or if she's mentally handicapped or even on drugs, but what we do know is that it's better off that her son isn't in her care anymore.

Maybe in some twisted, yet functioning part of her brain, she knew that getting caught applying pressure to her son's throat in a hospital was the best solution to their deadly problem.

On the other hand, maybe she's just crazy.

Either way, the little boy will not have any more "episodes" in which his mother almost chokes him to death. Police arrested her on preliminary charges of neglect and battery. Her son's out of her care now, and for the time being, I think, that is a very, very good thing.

What do you think?
