Anthony Weiner's Wife Huma Abedin Has Apparently Forgiven His Sexting

anthony weiner huma abedinRemember Anthony Weiner, promising young congressmen from Queens, pal of Daily Show's Jon Stewart, texter of his wiener. Well he's back, and he's in People magazine with his wife, Huma Abedin, and their baby, Jordan. And they're here to tell you that EVERYTHING IS FINE with them, even though you didn't ask. They are super-duper happy just doing regular family-people-type stuff.

And Huma has an important message for you all, in case you were predicting divorce for these two: "It took a lot of work to get to where are are today, but I want people to know we're a normal family." Not only that, she's "proud to be married" to Anthony.

Jeebus, I don't envy Huma for the "lot of work" she and Anthony must have been doing all this time. And I have to hand it to her, even if this whole article smells like total PR spin (he's SO planning to run for something), she's gutsy to stand by her man post-scandal. But why?

I mean, what's Anthony got that Huma wants to hold on to? We've seen his package and, okay, it's not bad, but it can't be just that. She's an accomplished, independent woman with a phenomenal career (have you seen this kerfuffle with Michele Bachmann linking her with the Muslim Brotherhood and Senator McCain defending her?). She could support little Jordan on her own if she wanted to. And I'm sure Anthony would stay an involved father whether they're married or not.

Oh wait, there's also this: Huma says Anthony does all the laundry. AS HE SHOULD. Yeah, tell us about all the dirty laundry.

But what's with the "normal" -- is that code for "I didn't stay married to him just for the political career -- I'm in it for THE LUV"? Because hey, I've known couples who have stayed married after infidelity. It definitely happens. But when that infidelity gets played out all over the tabloids and you still stay together? That's CRAZY love, sisterfriend.

Anyway, if all Anthony has going on is laundry and waiting for Jordan's first steps, the whole fan-damily wouldn't be appearing in People trying to prove to all the world how normal they are. They'd be doing what other normal people do -- quietly going about their private lives.

Are you surprised Huma Abedin is still married to Anthony Weiner?
