Bristol Palin's Views on Gay Marriage Are Full of 'Glee'

I'm sure we've all been waiting breathlessly to hear what Bristol Palin, daughter of Sarah, has to say about ... well, anything, right? She's such a card-carrying member of the intelligensia. But now she has blogged about Obama's support of gay marriage. And guess what, all? She thinks it's wrong. In fact, she seems to be blaming Obama's backing of gay marriage on the hit TV show Glee. Which I didn't really understand, but most of what she had to say wouldn't get past a first grade English teacher. Writes Palin:

Sometimes dads should lead their family in the right ways of thinking. In this case, it would’ve been nice if the President would’ve been an actual leader and helped shape [Malia and Sasha's] thoughts instead of merely reflecting what many teenagers think after one too many episodes of Glee.

Er, well, okay. Joe Biden also said the American public had become more accepting of same-sex marriage as a result of TV shows like Will & Grace. And, yes, television does have a certain influence on societal norms.

But what I actually think Bristol is saying is that Obama should have not reflected back his daughters' acceptance of same-sex marriage -- which they apparently got as a result of watching Glee -- but that he should have "helped shape their thoughts." In other words, changed their thoughts. Yes. Yes. And changed them to what Bristol thinks is right. And what Bristol thinks is right is not what happens on Glee. I think I'm getting this.

Bristol also adds that:

As great as [Malia and Sasha's] friends may be -- we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. Ideally, fathers help shape their kids’ worldview.

Which is nice and all, considering that Bristol's own son, Tripp, is not growing up in a home with his father. In fact, Tripp's father lives with another woman, who is pregnant. But, at least we can be relatively certain that Tripp will never be allowed to watch Glee, lest he get all kinds of crazy gay marriage ideas.

Do you think Obama let Glee influence his thinking?
