Michele Bachmann: I’m ‘Perfect’ and I Know It

michele bachmannGuess who thinks she's all that and a bag of pearls? Michele Bachmann. The former G.O.P. presidential candidate and Minnesota Congresswoman went on CNN, and when asked who she thought the most conservative candidate was still in the race, Bachmann responded: "I was. I was the perfect candidate. America had their chance with the perfect candidate." Do you hear that everyone? Sounds like we blew it.

There's just one tiny problem. If she was, in fact, the perfect candidate, don't you think she would've won? Or is she somehow calling us stupid for not seeing just how perfect she really is? Jesus. I'm getting dumber just thinking about this.

Bachmann's said some pretty ridiculous things over the years (I think my personal fave was when she said that God told her to be submissive to her husband), but this one takes the cake. Nothing like unfounded hubris combined with limited knowledge to really stir up some crazy quotes.

She's got to get her name in the news somehow, though. How else are Minnesotans to know she's running for a fourth term in the House? Forget sidewalk signs and public speaking tours, Bachmann knows that the fastest way to get attention is to say something outrageous. And the more outrageous, the better. She's won again -- we're talking about her right now, aren't we?

Can't wait to hear what she says next. Since she's already the self-proclaimed "perfect candidate" ... why should she stop there? I bet she thinks she's also the world's best mother. Maybe she's the best singer, too. The best actor? The smartest? The fastest? Will Bachmann audition for The Voice then gold medal in the 400 in this summer's Olympics? According to her, I'm sure, the possibilities are endless.

All we have to do is sit back and wait for her next sound bite. And if we know Bachmann, the next one isn't too far off. Gotta keep that news coverage coming.

What do you think of Bachmann saying she was the "perfect candidate"?
