FOX News Showdown With Muppets Makes Network Look Silly & Desperate (VIDEO)

Miss Piggy press conference muppet movieBack in December, when The Muppet Movie had just premiered here in the U.S., FOX Business Channel commentator Eric Bolling accused the flick of undermining capitalism. His gripe was with the film's villain, Tex Richman, who is an evil oil baron. Bolling's guest, Dan Gainor, agreed, “It’s amazing how far the left will go just to manipulate your kids, to convince them, give the anti-corporate message. Hollywood, the left, the media, they hate the oil industry. They hate corporate America."

Yeeeeah. Well, if the Muppets don't hate "corporate America," they at least have a problem with FOX. At a U.K. press conference for the flick last week, Miss Piggy actually addressed a question about Bolling's remarks by quipping, "It's as laughable as accusing FOX News of being, uh, news!" Haaa. This head-butting between a cable news network and ... MUPPETS (!!!) says a lot.

Truly, England must be snickering up a storm at us, thinking this back and forth makes the BBC look even more intelligent and superior to our sad excuses for news networks.

It just strikes me as totally kooky that a commentator on FOX (Business Channel, yes, but he's still affiliated with FOX) is targeting of all characters in the media ... the Muppets! A family-friendly flick was all Bolling had to rail out about that day? Does he also happen to have a problem with a movie like There Will Be Blood that shows the nation's oil history in a negative light? Either way, you have to be kidding me.

For a discussion like this to take up air time on a supposedly serious news program is "laughable" as Miss Piggy said. It's pathetic and ludicrous, and even if it was water under the dam, now it's been brought up again in the U.K. and addressed BY Kermit and Miss Piggy themselves, so it's the gift that keeps on giving! The whole thing really makes FOX look totally out-to-lunch. If they want to be taken seriously as a news organization, having commentators go off on puppets' "ulterior agenda" is NOT the way to go.

Here's the clip from the press conference of Kermit and Miss Piggy mocking FOX. Too funny!

Do Bolling's remarks make you take FOX less seriously? How do you like Kermit and Miss Piggy's reaction?
