Newt Gingrich Can’t Win Florida Primary With His Women Problems

Newt GingrichRepublican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has managed to get three women to marry him in his life. But he's going to need a lot more ladies to buy his shtick if he wants to win the Florida primary next week. And it's not looking good for the former speaker of the house.

Outed by one of his two ex-wives on television last week as a fan of open marriage, Gingrich managed to skate through in South Carolina anyway. He snared the top spot thanks to a mix of men and women voters. But he seems to have forgotten a little something.

Sometimes you get luck. But ladies like to be wooed a little before we commit. Unfortunately (or fortunately if you're not a fan) Gingrich has been to cocky coming off his South Carolina finish to bother going courting. Instead he's spent the crucial past few days talking up his loony plan to colonize the moon -- without boosting the NASA budget mind you -- and pissing off members of his own party.

It makes this female voter wonder if Gingrich is making the same mistake fellow Republican John McCain made four years ago: thinking that having Sarah Palin on his side will automatically make anyone with a uterus a fan. Sorry, Newt, it didn't work then, and it probably won't work now.

Polls put Gingrich leading the pack in Florida right after the South Carolina primary results were announced. But now he's once again sitting nine points behind former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who was also leading in the Sunshine State before the South Carolina. And -- surprise, surprise -- his ratings are really flagging with women voters.

If Newt Gingrich doesn't care about the ladies, are they really going to care about him?
