Reunion Between Long-Lost Brother & Sister Will Melt Your Heart (VIDEO)

siblings reunitedI challenge you to find something the Internet can't fix. Last weekend, an 84-year-old woman by the name of Doris Petre was reunited with her 87-year-old brother, a man named Richard Watrous, for the first time in 80 years. The two were separated in 1931 when they were both sent off to live in separate homes following the death of their mother.

Last summer, though, thanks to the omniscient Internet, Doris discovered that her long-lost sibling was living a few hours away from her Maine home in the fellow-New England state of Connecticut. Wait 'til you see their tearful reunion.

After months of corresponding and planning, Richard finally made the trip up to see his sister on Saturday. Doris said in a statement, "I just want to get talking to him, mend all those years for whatever years we still have left." And if that didn't break your heart enough, here's what Richard had to say about the last time he saw Doris when he was 7: "I can remember her standing down there on the driveway, and I was in the back seat and I was waving to her until I got out of sight. That's the last time I saw her."

As someone who's incredibly close with her sister, I can't imagine what it must have been like not knowing your sibling all those years. Sibling relationships are unlike any other -- particularly if you've been through the death of a parent together. It seems so unfair to have separated Doris and Richard. And it's so crazy that the pair didn't have any contact all these years. I imagine not a day went by when one of them didn't wonder about what the other was up to, and what kind of person they had turned into.

I guess 80 years is better than never, though. I'm glad Doris and Richard got this. And Doris even now has plans to visit her brother next summer. Adorable. Check out their reunion below.

How great is this?
