SantaCon 2011 Rocks NYC (PHOTOS)

SantaConIf you've never participated in SantaCon, you're in for a treat. A convention of drunk Santas, elves, and Christmas trees staggering around getting their jollies on. Sounds festive, right? It is. NYC's annual SantaCon bash took place this weekend and we were there -- or at least we know some, er, Santas who were.

According to its website, SantaCon is "a non-denominational, non-commercial, non-political, and non-sensical Santa Claus convention that occurs once a year for absolutely no reason," and thousands of New Yorkers answered the call by dressing up in their best holiday garb -- and getting wasted. Anyone can participate. All the folks at SantaCon ask is that you "don't wear your f*cking jeans."

Missed it? Don't feel bad, we've brought SantaCon straight to you:

Santas' day began at the World Financial Center at 10 a.m. (Moms, it's best to keep the kids at home during SantaCon -- all those drunken-ass Santas gathered in one spot would probably traumatize them for life.)

SantaConGrand Central Terminal was the perfect place to get a holiday rush.

The Santas also gathered in Washington Square. Perhaps they were trying to soak up some inspiration for Occupy North Pole. (Or get tips on pepper-spraying elves?)

Santas hit an ale house in New York's South Street Seaport area -- well before noon. Dansher, Schmanser ... Blitzed! Mrs. Claus is going to be pissed.

Who needs a taxi when you've got a sleigh with flying reindeer at your disposal?

For more on SantaCon at Grand Central, sit back and take in the sights and sounds of Santa. Tip: It will be more fun if you add a little spiked eggnog.

And here's a closer look at the scene downtown. Warning: The video could give you slight motion sickness -- or maybe that's the eggnog.

So there you have it. SantaCon NYC 2011. While most of the SantaCon events around the country already took place, you can check out its site for more info and future dates. Or course, there's always next year. Book your sleigh now.
