Sarah Palin Has Some Harsh Words for Jerry Sandusky

sarah palinNever thought I'd say this, but I 100 percent agree with Sarah Palin. While contributing on Fox News last night, Palin said that if Jerry Sandusky is found guilty, we should "hang him from the highest tree" and that she'll "bring the rope." Her comment kinda makes you take a step back, doesn't it? It's so honest; it's like she took the words right out of our mouths. The former Governor of Alaska excellently peppered her phrasing with the appropriate hedging, saying things like "if he's guilty," etc., and I'll be darned if her statement isn't the most succinct and on-target response that's come out of this horrifying scandal.

It was bold, but it's what everyone is thinking. Palin's gonna win praise from both sides of the aisle on this one -- if there's one thing Republicans and Democrats can rally around, it's gotta be a hatred for child rapists. And just in case anyone misunderstood her position on the Penn State horrors, Palin put a softer spin on her take and said that Sandusky should be "punished to the fullest extent of the law if he is truly guilty."

Amen to that. Even though Sarah's not on the G.O.P. ticket for 2012, that quote of hers is likely doing wonders for her personal brand. Presidential campaign or not, everyone can always use a good dose of positive publicity. Her comments not only resonate with both parties, but they're also very Palin in their nature. She's projected herself as a tough, no nonsense hockey mom who tells it like it is.

Calling for Sandusky to be hanged is right in line with her image as well as the sentiments of the nation. That's not an easy feat. It would seem that the ever-polarizing Palin has done the impossible. She stayed true to herself but pleased everyone. Am I impressed? You betcha.

What do you think of Palin's comments?
