New Lead in Lisa Irwin Case Could Mean Mom Is Innocent

lisa irwinI'm in a state of semi-shock: It sounds like there might have been a break in the Lisa Irwin case, the first REAL development of its kind since the 11-month-old (then 10-month-old) was reported missing on October 4. And I'm relieved -- surprised, but relieved -- that this latest lead actually does NOT point to Deborah Bradley, Lisa's mother, as the guilty party.

I'll admit I've had my doubts about Bradley and her ever-changing story: First she did check on her baby, then she didn't, then she was drunk, then she was really drunk, and so on and so forth.

I never wanted to suspect Bradley, there was simply no one else.

But now there is someone else.

Apparently police have discovered that on the night Lisa disappeared, someone tried to use Deborah Bradley's cellphone to call a strange woman named Megan Wright. (Remember there was that whole confusion surrounding the three supposedly stolen cell phones?)

Here's the part that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up: Megan Wright, who lives about a mile away from the Irwins, is the ex-girlfriend of a local repairman known as "Jersey" who has a criminal history of breaking and entering.

Oh, dear God. With this latest news, all the pieces start falling into place ... the neighbors who reported a strange man carrying a baby down the street in the middle of the night wearing nothing but a diaper ... the mysterious figure caught by the gas station surveillance camera ... the very break-in itself.

So maybe I'm not relieved. I mean, it would be great if Deborah Bradley turned out to be innocent after all these weeks. Still, if this repairman is the one who took Lisa ... what did he do with her?? Police have reportedly questioned "Jersey," whose real name is John Tanko, but as far as the public knows, no arrests have been made or charges filed.

I guess the only chance of true relief lies in the hope that Lisa will be found. Alive and safe.

Did you suspect Deborah Bradley before hearing this news? How do you feel now?
