Amanda Knox Should Leave Her Italian Lover Behind

amanda knoxAmanda Knox's ex-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, recently sat down with Italian magazine Oggi and revealed that he and Knox still talk every day because they "need each other." (If you're fancy and you speak Italian, you can read the interview here.) He also talked about how he was even invited to go to Knox's home in Seattle for Christmas this year, and how he "accepted with joy" and will "certainly go." He added, "I really want to see her again, to speak with her and look into her eyes."

I really can't even begin to imagine the hellish ordeal the two of them endured -- together. Obviously, they have a lifelong bond. But, I don't know, as an outsider, it seems like it might be a good idea to cool it on the chatting for a little while, so they can both get back to "normal life," no? And maybe he shouldn't be giving interviews just yet.

The trial ended only a few weeks ago. The both of them just returned to their respective homes; they're still getting acclimated. I understand that they can't just sweep the last four years of their lives under the rug, but why not try distancing themselves? Not to get all kumbaya, but -- why not focus on the present?

And as for giving interviews now, well, it really seems like it's too soon, doesn't it? I imagine an Amanda Knox interview will eventually come -- with a very hefty price tag -- but not for quite sometime, and that's good. I think Raffaele oughta sit back for a minute and enjoy his freedom before he starts reliving this whole nightmare again. Just my opinion.

Do you think it's too soon for Sollecito to be giving interviews? Do you think he and Amanda should talk every day?
