Private Investigator Is Lisa Irwin's Best Chance of Being Found

lisa irwinThere's been little to no consistency in the continuing search for 10-month-old Lisa Irwin, unless you count the pervasive inconsistency, that is. From Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin's initial accounts of how baby Lisa disappeared to the latest conflicting reports regarding Bradley's "inevitable" arrest, nobody -- not the police, not the parents, not the witnesses -- can seem to get their stories straight.

So part of me is relieved that a private investigator has been hired to get to the bottom of this whole mess. But even as this latest development makes us hope for answers, it also raises even more questions. Namely, who hired this private investigator? All we know at this point is that an anonymous "wealthy family" put him on the case.

The way I see it, this can only mean one of two things ...

Somebody out there has a reason to suspect Bradley and Irwin or a reason to believe that the police are missing something else major.

The most interesting thing to me is that this "wealthy family" decided against going directly to the police with whatever it is they know. Possibly because they don't want their tip lost in the tangle of miscommunication that has defined the investigation thus far?

First we were told that Bradley and Irwin "stopped cooperating" with police, then we were informed that they never "stopped" cooperating, they just took a break. Or something. Next Jeremy Irwin's sister told ABC News that Deborah Bradley was expecting to be taken into custody at any time, then police said Bradley was never a person of interest to begin with. Nobody seems to know exactly why authorities dredged a 40-foot well underneath the deck of a nearby vacant home, or why a "homeless man on a bicycle" is suddenly being mentioned.

Ultimately, if the private investigator can find Lisa Irwin before yet another week passes, it won't matter who hired him or why. Although maybe at this point, we're all a little afraid to find out the truth.

Who do you think hired a private investigator to find Lisa Irwin?
