Teacher Who Showed Naked Photos to Her Student Should Grow Up

meagan r. gordonKids. They do the darndest things. Especially when they're 22 and substitute teaching at a high school in Delaware.

Meagan R. Gordon was recently arrested for showing naked photos of herself that were stored on her cellphone to a 15-year-old student when she was subbing at Sussex Technical High. She was charged with one count of providing obscene material to a person under the age of 18.

The investigation began after the principal received a complaint from the mother of the 15-year-old boy. The student's mom told authorities that her son had been communicating via text messages with a person she thought to be a teacher at the school. After further snooping around, the mother realized the contents of the text messages were way inappropriate and that her son had, in fact, seen Ms. Gordon nekkid.

Apparently what happened was the student somehow managed to obtain Gordon's cellphone while at lunch at school and brought it with him to the bathroom. Police say that while in the restroom ("in the restroom"), he went through Gordon's photographs and found pictures of her Scarlett Johansson-style. The student then returned the phone to Gordon.

But then, after he returned the phone, Gordon allowed the little perv to view the photographs again. And then Gordon exchanged phone numbers with the student! Way to keep it professional, teach!

See, this is why -- or, I should say, one of the reasons why -- there should be an age minimum when it comes to substitute teaching in high schools. Totally not making an excuse for what she did, and not saying all 22-year-olds would behave in this manner, but Gordon simply was too close in age to the students. There's no line of demarcation. She, herself, had just graduated a few years earlier. I'd imagine it would be hard to not feel a little bit like a student herself.

Though I don't think it's hard not giving students nude photos of yourself. No, that's just common sense.

Do you think there should be an age minimum for high school substitute teachers?
