Gosh, Southwest Airlines can't seem to stay out of the news these days. Today's controversy? Well, actress Leisha Hailey, who played Alice Pieszecki, my favorite lesbian on The L Word, says Southwest gave her and her girlfriend the boot off the plane for, get this ... for kissing. Are you kidding me? So now the question is -- was Hailey kicked off the airline for kissing or for, as she claims, kissing another woman?

Southwest better clear this one up -- and fast. They already got called out for NOT firing the pilot who launched a sexist, homophobic, ageist rant and for kicking off an overweight celebrity, another celebrity for his saggy pants, as well as a passenger who was crying too much. And now this malarkey ...

Here are Hailey's tweets today about the incident aboard Southwest.

I have been discriminated against by @SouthwestAir. Flt. attendant said that it was a "family" airline and kissing was not ok.

This is an outrage. I demand a public apology by @SouthwestAir and a refund. Hate is not a family value. I will never fly this airline.

We were escorted off the plane for getting upset about the issue. @SouthwestAir endorses homophobic employees. No one made her accountable.

Since when is showing affection towards someone you love illegal? I want to know what Southwest Airlines considers as "family".

I know plenty of wonderful same sex families I would like to introduce them to. Boycott @SouthwestAir if you are gay. They don't like us.

Did I mention to @SouthwestAir that I have a lot of their actions recorded on audio and video? RT #boycottSouthwest #discrimination

I have to admit anytime I hear the "family environment" excuse, it automatically shoots up my homophobic discrimination red flag -- because the most homophobic people LOVE to use that "family" word to cover up their discriminatory fears about same-sex couples. You know, as if gay couples have no families or family values simply because they are gay. Little do they know, this "family" excuse shines an even bigger spotlight on their bigoted points of view.

You can bet, if a couple of honeymooner heteros were smooching it up on board, no one would have said a word about their public affection. So unless these two ladies were dry humping in their seats, this sure doesn't bode well for Southwest. I see a public apology in their future.

Instead, here is Southwest's response.

What's your feeling on this recent controversy from Southwest Airlines?
